Year-Round Species

Regardless of season, certain species are always available off Charleston:

Lingcod: Open year-round with no closed season. These aggressive bottom feeders are catchable 12 months a year, though spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) are peak periods. Expect 20-pound fish regularly, with 30+ pounders caught often.

Rockfish: Multiple species available year-round including yellowtail, widow, canary, bocaccio, chilipepper, and others. Limits of 15 fish per person are common on productive days. These provide consistent action even when other fisheries are closed.
